The CCC seeks someone to coordinate our Voices for Justice task force (“VOJ”) in 2020. The VOJ is comprised of committed volunteers who, guided by the CCC’s public policy statements, track legislation of interest to the CCC during the legislative session of the Colorado General Assembly. Job Duties
- Maintain an Excel spreadsheet that compiles legislation identified by VOJ volunteers. Here’s an example.
- Facilitate weekly meetings of VOJ volunteers.
- Track legislation in at least one of the CCC’s public policy priority areas.
- Attend CCC monthly board meetings to provide legislative updates.
- Write a brief mid-session report in early March 2020, based on input from VOJ volunteers.
- Testify on legislation when appropriate.
- Advocate on legislation when appropriate.
- Write a brief final session report in June 2020, based on input from VOJ volunteers. Here’s an example.
Desired experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.
- Proficiency with using the Colorado General Assembly website is required.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Previous experience with advocacy at the Colorado State Capitol is a plus.
- Social media proficiency is a plus.
This is a temporary, independent contract position that will go from December 2019 to June 2020. We anticipate that it will take an average of 5-10 hours each week to meet the obligations of this position. The total compensation for this contract is $3,500, paid in monthly installments.
