Just Food: A Symposium on Food and Faith
Join us for Just Food, an inaugural symposium that sifts through where culture, food, religion and social justice intersect. There will be a number of presentations, a themed meal for lunch and interactive opportunities for the attendees. Our primary goal is to get congregations to begin the journey from food charity to food justice by gaining a deeper understanding of the root causes of hunger and why it persists.
We will also explore other contemporary food topics that range from policy analysis to the whimsical. Though this symposium will have some panel discussions that explore Christian perspectives on food and food culture, there will be presentations that will captivate ANYONE interested in these subjects.
Just Food is sponsored by the Colorado Council of Churches, Governor Hickenlooper’s Office of Community Partnerships and the Iliff School of Theology.
