FINANCIAL LITERACY AND ASSET BUILDING MEETING ON MARCH 11TH

TOOLS FOR FAITH BASED AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

Now is the time of year that people are getting their taxes done, signing up for healthcare, and thinking about money. It is the perfect time to learn more about the resources that are available to help individuals and families learn about how money works. We hope you will join the Faith-Based, Community, and Federal Partnership meeting for our March meeting which has a dynamic line-up of speakers:

1) Dusti Gurle, Southwest Regional Representative for the U.S. Department of Labor will speak to us about the work of the U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau; and the Employee Benefits Security Administration. What are the implications of trends, policies, and lessons learned for our communities?

2) Sarae Kurth, Community Relations Coordinator of the Denver Community Credit Union will speak to us about banking products for savings accounts, where someone can send community members for individualized literacy counseling, and the best way to save for asset acquisition.

3) Shawn Young, Founder and CEO of the Financial Health Institute, and Author of the “Bootstraps” program will bring his long time expertise and passion for Financial Literacy and Asset Building to fill in the blanks and offer you more knowledge, and tools, to enhance your own competence in conversations about money.

Please don’t hesitate to bring your business cards and any information you would like to share about your own organizations. Once again, our goal of this meeting is to connect with, and form a stronger bond with, faith based and community organizations. We look forward to seeing you!
