We find comfort, hope, peace, and joy by careful study, obedience, and activation of the Scriptures in our daily lives. I am very grateful to be a participant for several years with a group of Intercessors who start their day by praying together Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. via teleconference. Our purpose for corporately praying together is to develop accountability and discipline. We command our mornings to God before we began to interact with the “things” of the day. One truth that we have discovered is that our prayer requests are not always answered with an automatic download. We have not had the pleasure of turning on our electronic devices and pressing a button that gives us an instant message from God.
However, we have experienced through consistent and faithful prayers that the perspectives of our days are more positive and encouraging. We exhort those who may be faced with trials of life or difficult circumstances. We have established a bond and unity through fellowship and praise to God. The context of Jesus’ words that are modeled in Matthew 18:18-19 is church unity. “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” Jesus taught often on the need for love, unity, and forgiveness. |
