Dear Friends:
As we conclude the Christmas season, blessings and peace to you in this new year.
For the third year, our regional council is committed to take the initiative to participate in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity sent out by the World Council of Churches. Our gathering will be mostly on Zoom with leaders from our communities at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 22nd. You are also welcome to join us in the sanctuary.
In this time of deep division, now as over the centuries, it is more important than ever to spend time together in prayer with each other, invoking One God to lead us to peace, to enliven us, to give us courage, to bless our hearts with Love for All. Our common ground is much broader than our differences. You are welcome to personally invite friends and neighbors of a variety of traditions to join us. We will also extend an invitation to the members of the Colorado Council of Churches.
You may immerse yourself as deeply as you have interest in the history and context of this year’s ecumenical prayer service created by the Armenian Church. EN 2026 WPCU.pdf With my strong recommendation, the planning team decided that we will pray the service as it was written by our siblings, respecting their tradition and language choices. As ecumenical Catholics, we honor the liturgy of our family in the faith.
