Faith Leaders, Community Partners Rally for Justice at Colorado State Capitol
Faith Leaders and Allies to Gather on Palm Sunday, Opposing Christian Nationalism and Calling for Love, Liberation, and Democracy at Colorado State Capitol
Date: Sunday, March 29
Time: 2:00 PM
Location: West Steps, Colorado State Capitol
Denver, CO — On Sunday, March 29 at 2:00 PM, clergy and faith leaders from across Colorado will gather with community partners on the West Steps of the State Capitol to stand together for love, liberation, and democracy.
Organized by Together Colorado and the Colorado Council of Churches, the rally highlights the urgent need to protect vulnerable families from ICE, challenge federal abuses of power, and advocate for policies rooted in human dignity. Taking place on Palm Sunday, the gathering underscores the power of shared values to unite across faith traditions and backgrounds.
“As a faith leader in Colorado, it’s important to gather on Palm Sunday to encourage a just society and remind others that we’re in this together,” said Adrian Miller, Executive Director of the Colorado Council of Churches. “We of multiple faith traditions are coming together to express what morally grounds us, sustains us, and gives us the courage and strength to endure in these troubling times.”
“At Together Colorado, we believe that real change happens when communities come together across faiths and backgrounds to demand justice for all. On Palm Sunday, we stand united to defend the dignity of every person, to call for policies that reflect compassion, and to reject the misuse of Christianity as a tool for division or oppression. We stand firmly against the dangerous rise of Christian nationalism,” said Meghan Carrier, Executive Director of Together Colorado.
Speakers include leaders from multiple faith traditions. Attendees will join in song, prayer, and action, standing together for justice. The event will feature faith leaders in vestments and banners with messages of “Love. Faith. Liberation” and “People Over Profits.”
Participants will be invited to sign a letter urging Colorado’s congressional delegation to oppose increased funding for detention centers.
