FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Denver – The Colorado Council of Churches (“CCC”) and the Denver Broncos announced an eternal partnership to name Mile High Stadium for an undisclosed sum. This venue will serve as the home of the Denver Broncos as well as a variety of events. Additionally, the CCC becomes the team’s official prayer partner. “We just felt that this combination of football and faith was a natural fit,” Denver Broncos General Manager John Elway said. “I threw a number of ‘Hail Mary’ passes during my career. I still remember how long and hard I prayed for a Super Bowl victory. Though it took awhile, God answers prayers, and it’s always right on time.”
“We’re excited for this partnership,” added Adrian Miller, the CCC’s Executive Director. “Fans will notice only a few minor changes. The venue will be renamed “Closer to Heaven Stadium” which kind of reminds people of being a mile higher than sea level. The CCC’s logo will be on display on all sides of the venue, and clergy will staff kiosks placed throughout the stadium for pre-kickoff, halftime, and two-minute warning prayers. Most importantly, we’ll provide spiritual counseling if the Broncos lose. Hopefully, we won’t have to do that often.”
