SUMMARY:World Refugee Day
DESCRIPTION:  \nJune 20th is World Refugee Day\, designated by the United Nations as the day to honor the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. \nAccording to the most recent numbers\, more than 1 in every 70 people on Earth has been forced to flee their homes\, totaling 117.3 million. 40% of all displaced people are children. Among them are nearly 42.5 million refugees.  \nSince 1980\, more than 80\,000 refugees have resettled in Colorado. \nProject Worthmore supports refugees\, newcomers\, and other displaced people by providing essential programs and services to ensure their health\, stability\, and dignity as they navigate the challenges of starting over and building safe\, secure lives in a new community. \nAbout Project Worthmore:  \nProject Worthmore is a locally rooted nonprofit organization\, located on East Colfax in Aurora\, Colorado\, dedicated to walking alongside refugees and immigrants as they rebuild their lives in our community. \nWhat began as small English classes in living rooms has grown into a network of programs that support thousands of newcomers each year. For over 15 years\, Project Worthmore has been a trusted presence in the community\, now serving an average of 6\,500 clients annually. Today\, we offer English classes\, a dental clinic\, a farm and food share program\, community navigators\, and opportunities for connection through Understanding Neighbors. \nAt the heart of this work is a commitment to community\, dignity\, and long-term support. As the needs of newcomer families evolve\, Project Worthmore continues to grow and adapt\, creating pathways toward stability\, self-sufficiency\, and a true sense of belonging.

In the stillness\, before the sun rises\, hearts turn toward the empty tomb and the promise that Christ is risen indeed. \nFor nearly 80 years\, the Colorado Council of Churches has offered this free Easter Sunrise Service\, hosting a sacred moment when worship\, creation\, and the hope of resurrection meet. Here\, surrounded by God’s handiwork\, thousands lift their voices in praise\, seeking renewal\, strength\, and the presence of the risen Lord. \nWe need your help to keep this ministry of hope free and open to all. Rising costs make it increasingly difficult to sustain this powerful tradition\, and we are prayerfully seeking $35\,000 to ensure it continues for generations to come. Our suggested donation is $10 per person. We’re grateful for whatever amount God places on your heart to give. \nAs a token of our gratitude\, donors who contribute $250 or more will receive reserved seating for two and a reserved parking space. With a $500 gift\, you will enjoy reserved seating for four and a reserved parking space. These gifts of appreciation are our way of saying thank you for helping make this sacred celebration possible.  Do not make an ANONYMOUS DONATION above $250 and you want seating and parking\, you must email st***@********es.org and provide us with your name. Without your name\, Red Rocks security won’t give you access to reserved parking and seating. \nIf this sunrise has ever stirred your spirit\, or if you believe in sharing the hope of the resurrection with the world\, we invite you to help sustain this meaningful tradition. \nClick HERE to make a gift to keep this Easter tradition alive.\nA portion of the money raised above our $35\,000 goal will be donated to: \n  \nWe’d love your feedback!
